Home Showing Increase Means Buyers Are Active

The level of activity in the housing market is gauged by the number of showings a property receives. An increase in traffic from potential buyers suggests that properties will be sold quickly, and there may be bidding wars for them. A new analysis of showings per listing recently revealed that the number of home showings in March increased and remained notably higher than pre-pandemic levels. Showings have increased by 43 percent compared to 2019. While showings are still higher than before the pandemic, they have decreased from the record-breaking highs of 2021 and 2022. This means the market will be slower than last spring but still reasonably competitive, depending on your location. In March, the Midwest and Northeast saw double-digit increases in showings, while the South was up by 1.4 percent and the West saw a 2.7 percent decrease.
